Never let this chance go by, and delve into the depths of this unique martial art of Kerala. P.S.Balachandran Master, the doyen of this physically and spiritually enriched art, is now gearing up for a 32 day long healing and cultural tour in the United States.

The Tour commences from April 10 onwards, along the West Coast of United States, camping in major cities like Los.Angeles, San Diego and Phoenix. The program schedule includes, lectures, consultation and workshops. Lectures will emphasize mainly on the curative and spiritual aspects of Kalarippayattu. For effective individual attention, consultations are restricted to only about 6 persons a day. The entire enlightening feast runs from morning to evening. Spiritual lessons at the close of the day is yet another highlight of the package. And its proven that his atriculation seep in to the neurological cells and nourish by nurturing the memory. His verbal images are chemical messages that change the body's composition.

Kalarippayattu is the age old physical cum martial art of Kerala. It has continuity over centuries and is based on the ideal of sound mind in a sound body. Kalarippayattu, is a unique blend of physical, mental and spiritual practices to bring about an upheaval in man by realizing the Eternal through a scientific and systemic way.

"Unlike last year, this year our programs focus on the spiritual and medical aspects of kalari, giving thrust to the Marma therapy and Uzhichil (massages). Thereby exposing the healing face of Kalarippayattu says Balachandran Master. According to him, the right side of our brain has a battery, which can be charged by different breathing exercises. The extra oxygen acquired by this method can activate numerous quiescent nerve cells, enabling one to achieve greater creative skills what others call a miracle. Recently, in Kerala, a journalist's camera freezed by the call of Master, as the journalist tried to violate the sanctity of the discussion. To the media world, it was something ‘super human'. But to him it's only an achievement through sternous concentration

Explaining the medical significance of Kalari, he said, "Disease is an outcome of the inequilibrium of various energy centers of the body as a result of an internal or external stress. This can either be a injury or an allergy". To combat this Marmatherapy is deployed which is nothing but energy massages, restoring the balanced state of those centres. And to assist this oil and decoction are prepared as a part of the therapy, which are made according to the traditional Ayurveda and Siddha systems.

The process of diagnosis is by observing the behavioral aspects, pulse, texture, taste etc, and this can only be achieved through vast experience, which Master has. And for him this is a service and he never demands a fee for the service, but some well wishers aid him to thrive.

Apart from this, Master's planned workshops in United States intend to translate the spiritual energy to artistic expression. The artistic skills of performers and theatre artist can be sharpened through these exercises. Here, the physical movements, from bottom to top, signifying the benevolent earth is widely used unlike the west. The rhythm and steps of kalari are also effectively incorporated in many art forms.

"While the students within the country practice it to improve physical conditioning, foreigners are mostly interested in learning the art as treatment for rheumatism, bone fracture, back pains, and also to sharpen the artistic skills” asserts Masterl. The foreigners also show keen interest in Kalarippayattu and the attend lies mainly in the fact that is much more than a technique in self-defense. So don't just wait long, as bookings for the program are coming to a close. Yes, open your senses to explore the new dimensions of this enchanting martial art with Balachandran Master.
