Muller Discovers The Health Care Systems He Longed For

Gopakumar AV

"I would have been dead by this time if I were in Berne" says Hans Muller, the 70 year old Swiss Management Consultant, who has now turned into an adovacate of Kerala Ayurveda. Yes, he’s now enjoying a stress and agenda free life in Varkala, about 50 kms from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala with his wife Yvonne.

In Hans Muller’s opinion Ayurveda is different from the rest because of its approach to the ailments, he says. In Ayurveda the physician to have an overall view about the patient. Not the symptoms eliminating system employed in modern medicine. Here one prepares mentally without any unwanted perceptions.

"The Roots of Ayurveda are here in Kerala, and there is no short cut other than coming to this wonderful state for a real experience," asserts Hans Muller, who got first hand knowledge on Ayurveda through books written by non-Ayurvedic experts. Still he was lucky to get the necessary inspiration, to attract him to Kerala.
It was another experience that brought Hans Muller more close to this healing science. This happened when he was invited for a talk about the possibilities of Kerala tourism that was held in Rotary Club. There he met Dr. Gopika Remanan, both an Ayurvedic physician and president of Rotary Club. Their friendship resulted in the setting up of an authentic Ayurvedic treatment center (Madom) Geethanjali, near Thiruvananthapuram with a view to impart the experience of undergoing the healing process in its totality.

Being a prolific reader, he now understands Ayurveda more comprehensively. The "Individual approach" in Ayurveda is a major plus point according to Hans Muller. In Ayurveda the physician prepares the medicines and massage oil for the patient alone, and it varies even if two people have the same disease. Here the treatment methods are planned according to the factors such as climatic, natural, behavioral, regional and other aspects of the patients. It also incorporates Yoga and life style aspects, which make the system, a true healing science.
